TITLE: HVAC Technician

LOCATION: Hampton, VA

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:  HVAC Technicians are responsible for operating, maintaining and performing repairs and installation on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to ensure optimal client relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate, maintain and perform repairs and installation on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to ensure optimal client relations.
  • Perform work in a neat and timely manner.
  • Accurately communicate and discuss work performed with customers and internal management.
  • Must hold all required training documents, ex: EPA card and others.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five (5) years Commercial / Industrial HVAC experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great communicator.
  • Ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization and with external contacts.
  • Skills will consist of servicing and installing a variety of HVAC equipment such as Water Source Heat Pumps, Package Units, Split Systems, Boilers, Chillers, VAV Units, Cooling Towers and VFD’s.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Must pass criminal background check and random drug screens.
  • Good driving record preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

EDUCATION/TRAINING:  OSHA 10 Certification required.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
